I understand you probably have questions on how my workshops work, what you will learn etc. I’ve compiled a list of the most common questions I’ve encountered. If you can’t find what you are looking for, don’t hesitate to contact me.

  • An astrophotography workshop focuses on photographing the night sky. Learn the setup, finding the perfect moment to capture the Milky Way, and editing techniques after you’ve taken your shots.

  • Complete beginners are welcome! My workshops are open to everyone from complete novice to professional photographers.

    It will be advantageous if you understand how the exposure triangle works (i.e., the relationship between shutter speed, ISO and aperture) and understand the basics of operating your camera.

  • I limit each workshop to 5 people. Small groups allow me to focus on everyone’s needs and answer any questions.

  • Yes, we require full payment upfront to secure your spot in the workshop.

    We accept all major credit cards and payments via PayPal.

  • I understand that unexpected events can happen. So in the circumstance of a cancellation, my terms are below:

    If I manage to resell your place in the workshop, full refund is applicable. Otherwise you will be entitled to 20% of the total workshop cost refunded.

    Refunds will be issued the same way as how the original payment was made.

    No refunds will be given for any accommodation, travel or any other costs incurred by delegates due to a cancellation. You must have travel insurance to cover any other travel expenses.

  • You will need at a minimum, your camera, tripod, and comfortable appropriate clothing for the time of year. A more detailed list will be sent once the booking is confirmed.

    I will have limited (one set) camera gear, tripod etc. on hand for hire.

  • You don’t need to be an athlete by any means. But since we will be walking through different terrains you will need to have good mobility to be able to walk up to 3 miles (5 km).

    If you’re unsure whether you are suitable, just drop me a message.

  • No, flights are not included. You will need to book your own flights to and from the destination.

    Please note: Only book your flights after your tour is designated as a Guaranteed Departure.

  • No, the price does not include food. On the day we arrive we will visit the local supermarket where food and drinks can be purchased.

  • The accommodations reflect the characteristics and cultures of the destination. In larger cities we may stay in hotels, while in the countryside we will aim to stay in locally owned lodges that reflect each region's distinct flavour and hospitality.

    All accommodation will range between 3 to 4 stars.

    All accommodations will help uncover the mystique of each destination and provide you with a unique experience unparalleled for that locale.

  • It will generally be at the workshop location. If at any point this needs to change, all updates will be sent via a private WhatsApp Group.

  • All my tours are spoken in English, so it is essential that all participants be able to understand English to ensure all safety instructions are understood.

  • Travel and Medical/Health insurance are essential. It’s a requirement for all my tours and is the responsibility of all participants to have.

  • Yes. Your safety is my number one concern and PDog Astrophotography is covered up to $10,000,000 in Public Liability Insurance.

  • Unfortunately not. I love animals but most of the places we will be visiting are National Parks or recreation reserves, so all pets will need to be a registered service animal.

  • If it is deemed unsuitable to go outdoors, we will use this time to focus on editing techniques.

    If the weather is deemed too severe for the Workshop to go ahead, an email will be sent out by 10am the day before the workshop’s start date.

  • The purpose is to teach you the best way to take stunning widefield astro landscape images. However, we will also photograph sunrise and/or sunsets during the workshop/tours.
